BYOF Chalk Paint Workshop
Join me Saturday, May 14 (10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.) as I will be hosting a workshop on furniture restoration. The fee for this class will be $60.00 and will include all supplies you need to refinish your piece of furniture, along with lunch and will be held at the following location:
13915 N. Harvey Ave.
My workshop will include an introduction to chalk painting, distressing, and waxing your own piece of small furniture. We will learn an economical way to achieving the chalk paint finish by mixing our own. There are many great chalk paints you can purchase, but this class will give you an inexpensive alternative. Chalk paint is the latest craze when it comes to furniture painting because no sanding or priming is required.
This workshop will be a fun, informative hands-on class.
In this class we will cover:
1) Different types of paint (chalk, latex, spray paint).
2) Different types of finishes and stains
3) How to distress and achieve an antique look
4) Using glazes and waxes for a proper finish
5) Furniture painting tips and tricks
I will have several colors to choose from and I will send you an email with a list of what I have. If there’s a particular color you want to use and I don’t have, I will be sure to provide it for you. Be sure to wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next week. We are going to have a lot of fun!
Join me on Saturday, May 7 (1:00-3:00 p.m.) as I will be hosting our second craft workshop transferring photos to wood. Classes are $35.00 per session and will be held at the following location:
I will be teaching you how to transfer photos to wood. Once you have signed up for the class, please email me (3) pictures you would like to use. One picture will be used for an 8x10 and the other two pictures will be 5x7. Also indicate in your email which picture you would like to be an 8x10 and 5x7s. For example:
Children playing – 5x7
Basketball ball pic -5x7
Family picture – 8x 10
I will provide you with both color and black and white printed photos and you can choose which ones you would like to transfer. Since it is best to allow the photo transfers to dry overnight, I will bring some sample wood pics for you to keep and use (already dried) in addition to taking home your 8x10 and 5x7’s you will be transferring during class.
The deadline to register for this class will be May 4. There are 10 class openings for this session. Below is a link for you to sign up for the class:
